Police: Man skips out on haircut, robs Fox Lake business
FOX LAKE – A McHenry man faces robbery charges after skipping out on a haircut and stealing $250 in cash Friday, according to Fox Lake police.
William Bolton, 36, was arrested and charged with a felony count of armed robbery Saturday while staying at the Fox Lake Motel on Route 12. He also was wanted on an outstanding McHenry County warrant for violating an order of protection.
Bolton received a haircut at Cost Cutters, located in the first block of West Grand Avenue in Fox Lake, about 7 p.m. Friday, according to a news release. Instead of paying for the haircut, he pulled out a large kitchen knife, demanded money and fled the store with $250 in cash, police said.
