$922M earmarked for 2013 Illinois Tollway projects

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — The Illinois Tollway says it plans to spend $922 million on capital improvement projects this year, twice the amount it spent in 2012.

Projects include the start of the $2.2 billion rebuilding and widening of part of Interstate 90, including a new $61 million interchange at Illinois Route 47.

The Tollway also will begin construction of new ramps at the interchange of Interstates 294 and 57, break ground on the $3.4 billion Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project and complete repair and maintenance work on other parts of the system.
