Icy roads affect morning commute

The majority of roads throughout McHenry County are open this morning after slick road conditions caused several accidents.

Portions of Route 62 between Route 25 and Brinker Street in the Barrington were closed for close to three hours after multiple accidents snarled traffic. Westbound Route 120 from Chapel Hill Road in McHenry was also shut down due to icy conditions, but has since reopened.

Cary, Algonquin and Crystal Lake had reverted to their emergency snow plans as of 7:20 a.m.
