D-300 student to be honored for ranked essay

ALGONQUIN – Students and family will recognize Jacobs High School sophomore Emily Stypinski during a special ceremony Monday for her ninth-place finish in a national essay competition on the stock market.

Stypinski competed against roughly 8,000 other students in the InvestWrite challenge, a national essay competition sponsored by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Stypinski’s essay on the effects of the stock market downturn earned her ninth place in the competition. Aside from national recognition, Stypinski received a $50 gift card for the essay.
