Published: Thursday, March 14, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

HUNTLEY – The Huntley Area Tea Party will welcome a representative of Turning Point USA during an event Wednesday at the Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill St.

The group will gather at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m.

Miguel Melgar, a freshman at Harper Community College and a local Turning Point USA representative, will explain more about the effect of the nation’s growing debt and spending, and what it means to Americans today and to his generation.

The mission of Turning Point USA starts with conversations among young people to educate students about fiscal responsibility, free markets, and capitalism. Through nonpartisan debate, dialogue and discussion, Turning Point USA believes that every young person can be enlightened to free market values and the need for fiscal responsibility through constitutionally limited government.
