Krause will receive training on violence against women

Deputy Police Chief Mark Krause will attend a four-day seminar in Oak Brook to explore innovative approaches to investigating domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

Krause was selected to attend the Illinois Law Enforcement Leadership Institute on Violence Against Women, which looks to raise responding to violent crimes against women to a higher spot on the agenda of law enforcement officials.

Expenses are covered by a federal grant to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.

The institute, hosted by The International Association of Chiefs of Police, will include collaboration among state departments and assessment of agency performance. Leadership will provide ways to effectively allocate resources toward responding to violent crimes against women.
