To the Editor:

This is a big “thank you” to the management and staff of The Village Squire in McHenry for saving the day. On March 3, we had a baby shower scheduled for more than 25 guests at another restaurant in town only to find out about an hour before the shower that the restaurant could not accommodate us due to a water main break.

In a panic, with guests traveling from as far as Chicago and Peoria, we contacted the manager of The Village Squire, who graciously accommodated us and our guests. Kudos also to our wonderful waitress and the kitchen staff who helped save the day.
