Suburban Chicago officer suspected in fatal crash
CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities have arrested a suburban Chicago police officer suspected of driving the wrong way on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive and causing a crash that killed two people.
The North Chicago Police Department has relieved the officer of his police powers and placed him on administrative leave. He has not been charged.
The officer, who was off-duty at the time, was injured in the crash and is in serious condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Center.
