Advisory expires, snow still expected
A winter weather advisory expired at 11 a.m., but snow is expected to fall into the afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow is moving east across far northern Illinois, and the northern and western metro area of Chicago, according to the weather service. Accumulation could include 1 to 2 inches of snow, mainly toward the Wisconsin state line.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution while driving.
