Published: Monday, March 18, 2013 1:28 p.m. CDT

CARY –The District 26 school board is scheduled to vote tonight on a plan to add an instructional technology coordinator for next school year.

The district estimates the person would be paid $60,000 to $69,000 a year.

The person who would fill the position would help teachers integrate technology, such as SMART boards, into their classroom instruction, among other things, administrators say.

As part of the plan, the district also wants to spend $318,000 on equipment purchases, including replacing existing computer lab equipment.

The school board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, at Cary Junior High at 2109 Crystal Lake Road.
