Collaborative leader

To the Editor:

Voters should elect Molly Walsh to the McHenry County College Board of Trustees on April 9. It has been my privilege to be associated with Molly on various projects.

Molly is a collaborative leader. She coordinated the first out-of-classroom credit course offered by the college in partnership with the McHenry County Conservation District and the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission. It was called Nature Through the Seasons and was taught by my wife, Darlene, and me. For our visits to nature preserves, Molly arranged for a handicapped-accessible bus and a sign-language translator.

Molly also is a planner. For more than 15 years, she coordinated the publicity, registration and transportation for the McHenry County Barn Association annual tours. She made sure that the bus schedule ran smoothly and that a box lunch was ready for more than 100 people. These events made money for the college and the Barn Association.

We need people like Molly on the college board.
