Mahady has nonpartisan approach to assessor job
To the Editor:
It is unfortunate that Carol Perschke is attempting to make the McHenry Township assessor election a partisan issue.
The real issue is who is best qualified for the position and who will treat the taxpayers respectfully and honestly. That person is Mary Mahady. Unlike nonpartisan city elections, a party affiliation is necessary for township elections. The office of assessor should be nonpartisan, exactly how Mary Mahady perceives it.
