To the Editor:
In response to Frank Musial’s March 12 letter to the editor.
Let’s take a fond look back on the President Reagan years: the Iran-contra scandal, 14 convictions; desisions made by first lady Nancy Reagan’s astrologer; HUD scandal, 16 convictions, costing taxpayers $8 billion; savings and loan scandal, $1 trilion-plus taxpayer cost; 32 convictions in his administration in his eight years; record deficits; 7.5 percent unemployment rate; supply-side economics; billions wasted on “Star Wars” spending; leveraged buyouts of $64 billion per year that destroyed many businesses and companies; destruction of the labor movement; 130, or so, investigations against Deptartment of Defense contractors.
