Former Lakemoor man accused of sexually assaulting child in mid-1990s

WOODSTOCK – A former Lakemoor man remained in custody at the McHenry County Jail on Friday after police said he sexually assaulted a young girl in the mid-1990s.

Nathan R. Tuggle, 33, of Buffalo, Minn., is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child. His bond was set at $75,000; he must post $7,500 to be released.

The alleged victim, who was a family member younger than 13 years old at the time, recently came forward to police, said Sgt. Mike Cisner of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Tuggle was interviewed by members of the Buffalo Police Department, where he made incriminating statements that led the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office to proceed with criminal charges, according to a news release.

Tuggle was arrested in Minnesota, but posted bond and was released. He is accused of violating the terms of the bond by going to Florida, where he was arrested again and then extradicted to Illinois.

Tuggle was booked into the jail Thursday evening.
