ELGIN – The Literacy Connection’s 16th annual Trivia Bee fundraiser will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 27 at Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin.

The agency is accepting team registrations for the trivia competition and donations to support the basket raffles, grand prize raffle and silent auction.

The event featured 26 teams in 2012 and hopes to have 30 teams competing in 2013. All teams compete for prizes and an opportunity to claim bragging rights as top team.

The competition consists of three rounds of questions from a variety of categories.

Refreshments will be provided, and a cash bar, new this year, also will be available.

Teams are made up of no more than four members and require a $400 entry fee.

Companies, small businesses and community members are eligible to form teams and participate in the competition.

Proceeds from the annual signature event support The Literacy Connection’s Adult and Family Literacy programs. The nonprofit organization serves 16 northwest suburban Chicago communities including Algonquin, Carpentersville, Cary, East Dundee, West Dundee, Hampshire, Huntley and Lake in the Hills.
