Downed wire in Cary leads to power outage

Published: Monday, March 25, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

A downed wire in Cary caused almost 2,100 customers to lose power for more than 45 minutes Sunday, a ComEd spokeswoman said.

The wire was down between Crest Drive and Oriole Trail and led to the outage about 11 a.m., spokeswoman Noelle Gaffney said.

About 2,080 customers in Algonquin Township, Cary, Fox River Grove and Barrington were without power.

Electricity was restored at 11:47 a.m., Gaffney said.

“[We] don’t know the cause of the wire being down,” Gaffney said.

“That is still being investigated.”
