Algonquin to discuss video gaming

ALGONQUIN – Village Board members are scheduled tonight to look at a proposed ordinance on video gaming.

Many bar owners have asked the village to adopt rules that would allow video gambling in the village, because there is fear they could lose business to bars in other municipalities where it is allowed.

The village held off on deciding whether to allow it, as it wanted to see if video gambling went well in other municipalities.

The Committee of the Whole is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the Ganek Municipal Center at 2200 Harnish Drive.
