After scoring one run in the top of the sixth inning at St. Charles East on Thursday, Prairie Ridge baseball coach Glen Pecoraro thought his team had the game in hand.

“I thought one run was going to win the game. We felt pretty comfortable,” Pecoraro said. “It was nice having that seven-run cushion.”

Matt Furst led the offensive attack for the Wolves (4-0) with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jordan Getzelman added a triple and an RBI for Prairie Ridge.

Caleb Senyshyn (1-0) didn’t give up any hits or runs in two innings to get the win.

St. Viator 1, McHenry 0: At Arlington Heights, Cody Freund went 2 of 3 for the Warriors in a nonconference loss.
