Hebron man killed in single-car crash

HEBRON TOWNSHIP – A Hebron man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle crash on Thayer Road near Route 47, a McHenry County Sheriff's Office news release said.

Randall J. Rossman, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Rossman was traveling eastbound on Thayer Road in a 1998 GMC Sierra when the vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, went airborne over a creek and came to rest on the passenger side.

Police said Rossman was not wearing a seat belt and that alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office and the Hebron Fire Protection responded to the accident around 9 p.m. Friday. The investigation between the sheriff's office and the McHenry County coroner is ongoing.
