Director explains Library of Congress’ importance

WOODSTOCK – John Y. Cole, a historian at the Library of Congress and founding director of its Center for the Book, will visit the Woodstock Opera House on April 18 to talk about the key role the library plays in American government, scholarship and society. 

The presentation is at 10 a.m. April 18. Tickets cost $24 and may be bought through the box office at 815-338-5300. 

The program is part of the Creative Living Series sponsored by the Woodstock Fine Arts Association.

Attendees are invited for coffee and conversation beginning at 9 a.m. at the Stage Left Café next door to the Opera House.
