Reason for Perschke’s run

To the Editor:

The writers supporting Carol Perschke’s opponent in the McHenry Township assessor race say that Carol has not had an opponent in previous races, and I have to ask why.

Could the reason be that Carol has been doing such a great job? Could it be that they think their candidate could come close to matching Carol’s experience because she is a Realtor and sat on the Board of Review?

I have known Carol for many years and have watched her improve her training and certifications.

She mechanized a great deal of the process so that anyone can get the assessed valuation information on their property from their computer.

Carol has arranged for evening hours and home visits when necessary. Last year, her office helped more than 350 individuals lower their assessment.

Vote for Perschke if you want to see the assessor’s office continue to improve.
