To the Editor:

There have been statements made that Cary village president candidate Bruce Kaplan has voted against every tax-levy increase. Not true.

On Dec. 20, 2011, he voted in favor of a tax-levy increase. Now that Mr. Kaplan is in campaign mode, in true politician form, he interestingly has reversed his position and voted against the tax-levy increase Dec. 4, 2012.

Comments made that Mr. Kaplan would not support an employment contract containing severance payments, among other benefits, are simply not true. He voted to approve the hiring of the current village administrator and his employment contract, which contains the same six-month severance clause and other benefits paid upon termination.

Mr. Kaplan ran for trustee with the premise to change fees, fee reductions that directly benefit his business. In his next breath, Kaplan stated the village needed to find a way to increase revenue. Really!
