Published: Friday, April 5, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

McHENRY – McHenry County College will conclude its water operator workshop series with "Breakpoint Chlorination – Do you Really Have a Free Chlorine Residual?" from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 14. The workshop will be at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry.

Spon Water Consulting LLC will present proven methods of working with chlorination.

Participants are asked to bring their own DPD chlorine field test kit and a sample of their water to see firsthand how to avoid phantom false-positive chlorine residuals, lower dosage rates and increase residuals.

Workshop fee is $69 and includes a box lunch. To register, call 815-455-8588. For more information, call Ruth Kormanak at 815-479-7879 or email rkormanak@mchenry.edu.
