One man shot in Harvard

HARVARD – A 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound this morning, police said in a news release.

Police said there was a dispute on the 700 block of West Metzen Street about 3:40 a.m. prior to the shooting. Before police arrived, three men fled the scene in a small red passenger vehicle.

One man is described as 6-feet tall, black, with a light complexion and a thin build. The second man is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, Hispanic, with a thin build. The third man is 6 feet 4 inches tall and white.

A Harvard man, whose name was withheld, was taken to Mercy Harvard Hospital with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound, the news release said.

No other information was released.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Harvard Police Department at 815-943-4431 or the Crime Stoppers at 815-943-4343.
