Sox prepare to hit the road with 10-game trip looming

CHICAGO – The White Sox end their opening homestand today against the Mariners, hoping to take the series.

After today's game, the Sox travel to Washington for a three-game series against the Nationals. Their trip also includes three game at Cleveland and four games at Toronto.

Chris Sale (1-0, 0.00 ERA) starts today against Seattle looking to continue his success at U.S. Cellular Field. Sale is 10-3 with a 2.12 ERA in 15 starts at home since the start of last season.

The Sox currently lead the American League with a 2.54 ERA. According to Elias, Alex Rios' homer off Felix Hernandez on an 0-2 count during yesterday's win was the first 0-2 home run Hernandez had allowed since Sept. 18, 2011 (Adrian Beltre).

The Sox are breaking out the 1983 "Winning Ugly" throwback uniforms today for the first time. They will wear the jerseys during every Sunday home game this season.

Right-hander Hisahi Iwakuma (1-0, 1.50) takes the mound for the Mariners.
