CRYSTAL LAKE – Residents can change a small piece of the world at McHenry County Conservation District’s award-winning “Weekend of Restoration,” April 26-28, at Glacial Park in Ringwood.
Plant oak seedlings and native shrubs near Turtle Marsh and share meals, ideas and inspiration throughout the weekend. Participants will have the opportunity to learn a lot. Just as importantly, they will have the opportunity to make a difference.
To view the results of last year’s “turtle marsh” weekend, visit http://on.fb.me/WkndofRstor.
Group size is limited to 30. The registration deadline is April 19. The program is open to those ages 16 through adult.
The cost is $65 for adults, $45 for seniors 60 and older and $30 for students.
Register with a friend and receive $20 off the second registration (the fee includes meals).
Participants also have the option to camp at Glacial Park for free, exclusively for this event. (Indoor restrooms and showers available; campers must bring their own camping equipment.)
For information or to register, contact Tom Simpson at 815-678-4532, ext. 8218, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The District’s Weekend of Restoration was nationally recognized by the National Association of County Parks and Recreation Officials as the 2012 Exceptional and Unique Program that could be emulated by others.
