Jansen’s long goal lifts Johnsburg over Prairie Ridge
With scoring opportunities at a premium, Olivia Jansen’s 35-yard blast with two minutes to play looked like a long shot.
But it found the net to send the Johnsburg girls soccer team past Prairie Ridge, 2-1, in a Fox Valley Conference crossover match on their home field.
“Prairie Ridge held under a lot of pressure,” Skyhawks coach Rob Eastland said. “That goal was well worthy of winning any game.”
The senior’s game-winner came on a pass from sophomore Delaney Pruitt, who tied the score in the second half on an assist from Jansen.
