Huntley High students to perform ‘Spelling Bee’

HUNTLEY – Under the direction of Nancy Cross, Huntley High School students are proud to bring one of Broadway’s most buzzed-about hits – “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” – to the school’s Performing Arts Center.

The show will be performed at 7 p.m. April 19, 20, 26 and 27, and at 3 p.m. April 21 and 27 at the school, 13719 Harmony Road.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy. Set in a school gymnasium, it’s a hilarious look at the pressures of growing up through the eyes of six quirky young people, coming together in the place where they feel most comfortable: a spelling bee.

“Spelling Bee” tells the tale about growing up, needing approval and acceptance, and learning that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make one a loser.

Tickets are $5 each and can be bought online at www.district158.org/pac/home.htm.
