CRYSTAL LAKE – How can an organization host a green fundraising event? Where can one drop off compact fluorescent bulbs, old computer monitors or leftover motor oil?

To find answers to these questions, area residents can turn to the “McHenry County Official Green Guide 2013,” which features a recycling directory and a Green Living section, plus a new topic index.

The publication is available at www.mchenry.edu/recycling.

Sponsored by the MCC Sustainability Center and the Lou Marchi Total Recycling Institute at McHenry County College, the Green Guide 2013 provides information for anyone looking to recycle, re-use or reduce to protect the environment. The Green Living section lists businesses that sell green products locally and online.

In addition, the Green Guide 2013 is available at 90 local government agencies and business locations and as an iRecycle app at Earth 911.com.

For information about the MCC Sustainability Center and the Lou Marchi Total Recycling Institute or anything related to recycling and sustainability, call Pat Dieckhoff or Kim Hankins, director of sustainability, at 815-479-7765.
