Programs to promote Money Smart Week

ALGONQUIN – The Algonquin Area Public Library District, the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago are celebrating Money Smart Week next week.

The library provides free educational programs to promote the importance of financial literacy and for community members to get their financial questions answered.

• Getting to the Heart of the Matter: Planning for a Future, 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Personal and business development coach Jeff Yelton speaks to anyone who wants to understand how to best leverage their lives for a sustainable, profitable future and an inspiring career. Registration is required to attend and may be done online at www.aapld.org or in the library at 2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin.

• Tax Free Saving and Investing Made Simple, 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Jarid Brockman, AAMS Edward Jones financial advisor, will present smart saving basics. It’s not how much one earns, but how much one keeps. Learn the differences between tax-free bonds, IRAs, Roths and more. Registration is required and may be done online at www.aapld.org or in the library.

• Selling for Success, 2 to 4 p.m. April 28. Patricia Kelly, APSD certified home stager of Marie Kelly Unlimited, and Gary Hall of Remax will present the best way to prepare a home in today’s competitive real estate market. Learn to create a more valuable, attractive and desirable home that potential buyers will remember. Registration is required and may be done online at www.aapld.org or in the library.
