Autopsy planned on body found in Oak Brook creek

OAK BROOK – The DuPage County coroner says he’ll conduct an autopsy on the body of a man found in Salt Creek in Oak Brook.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports that the badly decomposed body was found Thursday, and the autopsy was to be conducted on Friday.

Lt. Howard Oller of the DuPage County Forest Preserve District Police Department says a wallet was recovered. But he says it was impossible to positively link an ID in the wallet to the person because the body was so badly decomposed.

Oller says it’s too early to determine if the circumstances of the death are suspicious.

A person walking along York Road Thursday morning discovered the body floating near a wooden walkway that was flooded due to storms.
