Woodstock woman launches new advocacy organization

WOODSTOCK – Marianna Dimitrio-Paloumbis was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome 10 years ago, and has been coping with the associated pain and depression ever since.

To support others who also are dealing with chronic illnesses, such as fibromyalgia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and Gulf War syndrome, Dimitrio-Paloumbis is organizing the nonprofit group FacesR-US.

To mark the launch, an informal “meet and greet” will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at The Woodstock Public House, 201 Main St.

“You can come alone or with friends, have a cup of coffee or a meal,” Dimitrio-Paloumbis said in a news release. “The important thing is that we gather to express what we would like to see and hear and learn at the regularly scheduled meetings to come.”

For information, contact Dimitrio-Paloumbis at Marianna777@comcast.net or call 801-205-0598.
