GENEVA – A Carpentersville man was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of his ninth DUI.

William M. Reece, 58, was sentenced Wednesday, by Kane County Judge John A. Barsanti.

Reece previously pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated driving under the influence, a Class X felony, and one count of driving on a revoked license, a Class 4 felony.

Reece registered a 0.219 blood-alcohol concentration at the time of his September 2012 arrest in West Dundee, the Kane County State's Attorney said in a news release.

He had been driving on a revoked license at the time of the stop, prosecutors said, because of a prior DUI conviction.

Reece had eight prior DUI convictions between June 1987 and November 2007 in both Kane and Lake counties, and served three prior prison terms on those charges.
