GIRLS ROUNDUP: Huntley soccer shuts out C-G

Deanna Hecht scored on a direct kick from 25 yards out midway through the first half to give Huntley the lead at home in a 3-0 win against Cary-Grove on Tuesday in Fox Valley Conference girls soccer. 

Also scoring for the Red Raiders (14-2-1, 4-0 FVC Valley) were Beth Parks and Taryn Jakubowski. Jessica Galason made two saves in goal. Krystal Felderman made eight saves in goal for the Trojans.

Prairie Ridge 3, McHenry 0: At Crystal Lake, Larissa Dooley scored two second-half goals for the Wolves in an FVC Valley Division win.

Crystal Lake Central 4, Johnsburg 3 (PK): At Crystal Lake, Delaney Pruitt scored three goals for the Skyhawks (9-6, 3-2), who lost to the Tigers, 3-1, on penalty kicks.

Grayslake North 3, Woodstock North 2: At Grayslake, the Thunder lost an FVC Fox Division match. 

Hampshire 3, Woodstock 2: At Woodstock, Lexi Maze, Alex Zeller and Paige Palubicki each logged goals in an FVC Fox Division win for Hampshire (3-9, 1-2).

Anna LoPatin and Emma Thill scored for Woodstock (3-12, 1-3).

Richmond-Burton 5, Rockford Christian 0: At Rockford, the Rockets (11-0-1, 7-0-1 Big Northern Conference East Division) remained unbeaten on goals from Amanda Hoglund, Micki Winkler, Courtney Kaminscky, Liz Wertz and Meghan Vasseur.

Marian Central 4, Chicago Christian 0: At Woodstock, Rebecca Turski scored a pair of goals and Robin Wenzel and Simona Slater each netted one in a Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division win for the Hurricanes (4-5, 3-2).


Prairie Ridge 16-9, Dundee-Crown 2-1: At Crystal Lake, Melissa Richter homered for the Wolves (16-2, 6-1 FVC Valley) in the second game after completing a game from April 12. Amanda Eissler homered for the Chargers (3-10, 0-6 FVC Valley).

Grayslake North 9, Johnsburg 6: At Johnsburg, Kayla Toussaint doubled and drove in two runs for the Skyhawks (7-10, 5-2) in an FVC Fox Division loss. 

Burlington Central 2, Richmond-Burton 1: At Richmond, Grace Schwegel drove in a run for the Rockets (5-7, 4-5) in a BNC East loss.

Harvard 25, Rockford Christian 0 (5 inn.): At Harvard, Kaylee Bischke tripled and drove in five runs for the Hornets (4-4) in a BNC crossover win.

Grayslake North 3, Woodstock North 2: At Grayslake, Marta Sobey and Nicolette Kruzcek scored for the Thunder (3-10, 2-5) in an FVC Fox Division loss.

Crystal Lake Central 8, Woodstock North 2: At Crystal Lake, Michelle O’Keefe homered and drove in five runs for the Tigers (9-4, 5-0) in an FVC Fox Division win. Paige Busch doubled and drove in a run for the Thunder (3-10, 1-5).

Marengo 3, Genoa-Kingston 0: At Genoa, Bethany Hart struck out 13, walked none and allowed no runs on four hits in a complete game BNC East Division win in the circle for the Indians (14-6, 4-2). Veronica Ruelius and Megan Semro both hit doubles.

Huntley 2, CL South 1 (8 inn.): At Crystal Lake, Randi Peterson broke the scoring open in the eighth inning with a double in an FVC Valley Division win for the Red Raiders (14-6, 2-4). Jessica Shields and Haley Spannraft had three hits apiece in Spannraft’s complete-game win.

Erin Yazel (2 for 3) scored in the bottom of the eighth for South (10-5, 2-4) after reaching on a double.

Grayslake Central 15, Woodstock 2: At Woodstock, Rachel Lohmeyer had the only RBI in an FVC Fox Division loss for the Blue Streaks (2-11, 0-5).

Alden-Hebron 11, Wesminster Christian 0 (5 inn.): At Hebron, the Giants (12-3 overall, 7-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference) scored big early and defeated the Warriors in their conference game.

Sparkle Lagerhausen (11-3) picked up the victory and was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Marissa Knoll also tripled in two runs.
