Villanueva searching for win No. 2 in series opener vs. Reds

CHICAGO – Cubs starting pitcher Carlos Villanueva has logged four quality starts through his first five starts of the season, but he's still looking for his second win.

Villanueva (1-1, 2.29 ERA) starts today against the Cincinnati Reds coming off his worst outing of the year when he gave up four runs in six innings at Miami. Villanueva has lasted at least six innings in each of his starts. He has already faced the Reds once this season, throwing 8 1/3 innings April 23 at Cincinnati and allowed two runs on three hits.

Right-hander Mike Leake (1-1, 4.34) starts for the Reds.

Manager Dale Sveum said right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa (right forearm strain) will make his first rehab appearance Sunday at Triple-A Iowa while Matt Garza (lat strain) will make his second rehab start Monday at Iowa.

Left fielder Alfonso Soriano is one double shy of 200 with the Cubs, which would make him the 30th player to reach that milestone with the franchise. Reliever Carlos Marmol is one appearance away from passing Lee Smith for first all-time in relief appearances with the Cubs (453).
