Constitutional lawyer to speak to Huntley Area Tea Party

Published: Friday, May 10, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

HUNTLEY – Chip Borman, a constitutional lawyer and regional coordinator for Heritage Action for America – the sister organization of the Heritage Foundation – will be the guest of the Huntley Area Tea Party on Wednesday.

The group will gather at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill St., Huntley. The program will be at 7 p.m.

Heritage Action for America is the “do tank” complement to The Heritage Foundation “think tank” and works to keep Congress accountable to conservative principles.

As a constitutional lawyer, Borman has argued election law in two national elections.  He has advised the newly formed Iraqi government on the formation of its constitution and its rule-making bodies.

Borman will speak about whether the Bill of Rights still matter and how activism can keep Congress accountable.
