To the Editor:
Once again, I am confused as to how sudden and dramatic rises in gas prices are decided upon by our friendly oil/fuel providers.
I know that Uncle Sam and seasonal fuel blending play a part in what we all must endure at the pump, but ...
How about anytime that fuel prices increase by more than 10 cents per gallon, gas stations (or the local/state government) must post, in plain sight, the exact reason for the increase from the moment the price goes up at the pump?
Of course, I know it won’t stop it from happening, but I’m sure that the oil companies and our elected representatives would be more than happy to provide such information to their loving public in advance of any increase.
All we have to do is ask nicely, right?
