Prosecutors continue murder case against Ill. man

PEORIA — Prosecutors are expected to begin a second day of what could be two weeks of testimony in the case of a man charged with killing five members of a central Illinois family.

Prosecutors began their case against 34-year-old Christopher Harris on Wednesday by saying Harris' brother, Jason Harris, will testify against him.

Christopher Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2009 deaths of 46-year-old Raymond "Rick" Gee and 39-year-old Ruth Gee and three of their children. Sixteen-year-old Justina Constant, 14-year-old Dillen Constant and 11-year-old Austin Gee were the young victims.

The five were found beaten to death in their home in Beason. A 3-year-old daughter survived.

Defense attorneys have argued Jason Harris has a past perjury conviction and has repeatedly changed his story.
