Sox try to turn season around against Angels

CHICAGO – The White Sox don't want to waste this quick, three-game homestand and want to turn things around tonight against the Angels.

Left-hander Jose Quintana (2-0, 3.86 ERA) starts for the Sox tonight while right-hander Jerome Williams (1-1, 3.16) takes the mound for the Angels. Sox starters have a 2.60 ERA and a .216 average against in their last eight games.

Sox hitters have improved with runners in scoring position during the past nine games, hitting .282 in those situations. Outfielder Alex Rios have found a rhythm at the plate, batting .409 with two home runs and four RBIs in his his last five games.

Reliever Jesse Crain enters today's game with a 12-game scoreless streak which spans 10 1/3 innings pitched.

With a Sox win tonight against the Angels, Robin Ventura will become the 27th manager in franchise history to win at least 100 games.
