SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon plans local meetings in communities near the state's three largest military installations.

The meetings will be aimed at discussing business, education, jobs and other issues. Simon plans to take feedback from the meetings and present it to the Interagency Military Base Support and Economic Development Committee. She's chairman of the group. Military families, civilian employees, employers, educators and local residents are invited to attend.

The Scott Air Force Base meeting will be Friday in Belleville. The Rock Island Arsenal meeting will be May 31 and the Naval Station Great Lakes meeting will be June 5 in North Chicago.
