PEORIA  — Jurors are set to hear a seventh day of testimony in the trial of a man charged with killing five members of a central Illinois family with a tire iron.

Christopher Harris' trial is to resume Tuesday morning.

Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder in the killings of Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children. The family members were found dead in their home in Beason in September 2009.

Jurors on Monday heard an interview Illinois State Police conducted with Harris not long after the killings. In it Harris said he was not the killer. But an investigator said at the time, evidence was starting to pile up against Harris.

The prosecution is still presenting its case. The trial is expected to last all month.
