15-year-old Chicago boy fatally shot in head

CHICAGO — Police say a 15-year-old boy has been fatally shot in the head on Chicago's South Side.

Police Department spokesman John Mirabelli says three men approached the teen and opened fire in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood Thursday night.

The boy was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The gunmen ran from the scene.

Mirabelli says detectives are investigating but have no information on a possible motive and no suspects are in custody.

He says authorities are not immediately releasing the boy's name pending notification of his family.
