Body found after boating accident on LaMoine River

RIPLEY, Ill. (AP) — The body of a 20-year-old man missing since a boating accident a week ago has been recovered from the LaMoine River in western Illinois.

The Journal Star in Peoria reports ( ) that Josh Hart, of Rushville, was one of five people involved in the May 11 accident. The other four occupants of the small fishing boat made it safely to shore.

Sgt. Mark Wagner of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says the 12-foot jon boat struck a logjam and capsized.

Wagner says the boat was overloaded and only had two lifejackets.

He says the accident remains under investigation.
