Police: Homeless man apparently drowned

AURORA (AP) — A man who apparently drowned in an Aurora retention pond has been identified as a resident of a local homeless shelter.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/16I2B6P) reports that the body of 36-year-old Joseph Pec was discovered Friday afternoon by a jogger who was running past the pond on the city's far northeast side.

Police say the man had been with a local woman before he apparently drowned and that the woman had tried to pull him from the pond. They say that there is no indication of foul play.
