Mr. and Mrs. Roccaforte

CARY – Lewis and Rita Roccaforte of Cary celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month. Their family gathered at a local restaurant to mark the occasion.

Rita Toohey and Lewis Roccaforte were married May 2, 1953, at St. Cecilia's Cathedral in Omaha, Neb.

Lewis was employed as a chemist. After his retirement from Standard Products, the couple moved to Cary. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Rita is a homemaker.

The couple enjoys reading, gardening and sharing good times with family.

Their family includes four sons, Peter Roccaforte of Cleveland, the late Thomas Roccaforte, Michael (Deb) Roccaforte of Indianapolis and David Roccaforte of Chicago; and four daughters, Mary (Jeff) Chemelewski of Cary, Jane (Bob) Kreha of Grand Rapids, Mich., Teresa (Christopher) DeFelice of Orlando, Fla., and Ann (Keven) David of Elmhurst.

They also have 17 grandchildren and eight great-granchildren.
