Run and Roll Track Meet set for June 1

McHENRY – The sixth annual Run and Roll Track Meet, a Paralympic Experience, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon June 1 at McCracken Field, 3712 W. Kane Ave.

The events are for those who have a primary physical or visual disability.

Attendees also can try out adaptive sports equipment, such as racing wheelchairs, field chairs, ice hockey sleds, sports chairs and adaptive bikes.

Novice and recreational events include 25- and 60-meter races, a 100-meter relay, a 60-meter wheelchair weave, a long jump, discus, and a softball throw.

Paralympic and national junior disabilities championship qualifer events will take place for 60-, 100-, 200-, 400-, 800- and 1,500-meter races, discus and shotput.
