Grant to allow Johnsburg library to update travel section

JOHNSBURG – The Johnsburg Public Library recently was awarded a $4,918 “Back to Books” federal grant for a project titled “Have Travel Books and Patrons Will Travel!”

In conjunction with this year’s Illinois Library Association’s iREAD travel-based Summer Reading Program theme, the library will update and supplement the adult nonfiction travel section by buying new travel books and DVDs, Library Director Maria Zawacki said in a news release.

These new travel acquisitions will be featured in activities for the adult/young adult summer reading program, while also providing patrons with a more complete and up-to-date travel collection.

Funding for this grant project was awarded from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Secretary of State/Illinois State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.
