The Cary Farmers Market opens on Sunday, with about 25 vendors scheduled to be present.
A wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods, herbs, flowers, plants, among other things will be featured, the Cary-Grove Chamber of Commerce said in a news release.
“The Cary Farmers Market has been one of the most rewarding community events the Chamber has ever initiated,” said Cary-Grove Chamber Executive Director Suzanne Corr. “Last season we received many positive responses and accolades for bringing the market to the community. The market was attracting over 1,500 shoppers each week.”
The first Sunday of each month the market will feature special events, outdoor music and extra vendors. Free Chamber shopping bags will be given to the first 100 shoppers, free bags of groceries will be raffled off, and there will be outdoor music on June 2, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1.
The farmers market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday from June 2 through Sept. 29 at the north commuter parking lot near the intersection of High Road and West Main Street in downtown.
