D-158 Foundation awards scholarships to Huntley High seniors

The District 158 Education Foundation recently awarded six Huntley High School seniors with scholarships totaling in the thousands.

Chad Alexander, chairman of foundation's scholarship committee, presented seniors Taylor Hilbrant, Ashley Knipp, Alexander Krum, Marek Makowski and Jason Trovela each with a $1,000 scholarship during the high school's senior awards night earlier this month.

Senior Jessica Marsh received a $500 scholarship as the winner of the Fruin Farms Student Scholarship. The committee interviewed 10 students from a pool of 18 applicants before selecting the six recipients.

The students had to list their extra curricular activities, while answering questions regarding their post-high school plans.
