WOODSTOCK – An Algonquin man will be sent to prison after admitting to violating his probation.

Jacob R. Bennett, 21, was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison by McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather.

Assistant State’s Attorney Dave Johnston said Bennett was on probation for 2011 burglary charges, and as part of that sentence, he was not to violate any other laws.

While on probation, Bennett was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and driving under the influence out of Kane County, Johnston said. He will serve his prison term concurrently with the Kane County charges.
